Hey thanks for the overwhelming input! I'd like to thank every participant and would like to mention some other DE i forgot to include in the poll and where brought up in comments: xmonad stumpwm awesome pekwm openbox/LXDE Fluxbox RazorQt/KWin cinnamon Mate WindowMaker goomwwm zsh ;) Last but not least I'd like to thank the great developers that build those DE and make our lifes better daily!

I started using Linuc with Ubuntu with GNOME2, then Canonical totaly ruined it with absolutely terrible Unity so I installed GNOME 3 only to find out it was almost as bad as Unity. So I tried KDE and I fell in love with KDE so that's what I use now and think it is the best desktop ever made.

I use KDE4 as main Desktop but now and then use another desktop like unity. Unity is not as bad as some of us say, it is quite usable. The problem with linux still is, that I like both KDE- and Gnome-programms they should work more on interoperability, leaving it up to the user which desktop he/she likes more.

LXDE and Cinnamon are missing ;)
